Biddenham

Project Details
The brief for this Biddenham garden was a contemporary, low maintenance outdoor space for relaxing and dining, one that created a much stronger link between the house and garden. Working alongside designer Mark Langford, low maintenance planting was combined with crisp, contrasting straight lines for year round visual interest. Slate walkways run through a grid pattern of gravel, paving and planting, breaking up what was once a blank canvas and creating a more intimate, layered space. Planting within the terrace itself was a particular priority, adding interest when viewed from the kitchen and dining rooms. 'We included planting within the terrace space to provide visual interest,' says Mark Langford, 'this was particularly important for the client when viewing the garden from the kitchen and dining rooms.'
